Between this world and that
This picture was taken at Gumbaz - the burial place of Tipu Sultan and his father Hyder Ali, in Srirangapatna. The window looks into the chamber where Tipu and Hyder’s graves are. The intricate wooden frame stands between this world and that.

I hope it's equally ornately decorated on the other side as well, so that patrons of art can gaze upon it from their graves...
Does one have to go to the other side to find out? Yes, perhaps.

nice shot.. interpreted the picture along with the title as an allusion to something else before reading where the picture was taken.. nice picture either way..

Hey Ink Spill, I guess on that side of the fence, it doesn't matter :)
Thanks Charu!
Thanks sAn!
Thanks Avishek! This was taken a while back (September last year). I didn't post it then because I wasn't sure on how it should be treated. I finally settled on converting everything other than the human element to grayscale.
Glad that you pointed the hand out! Earlier on I had converted even her hand to greyscale and the picture lost a good deal of its impact (which is perhaps what kept me from posting it for so long).
Thanks A!
