These kind of dolls really came into the mainstream after the movie Bhoot featured one such doll.

Hi Ash, Haven't seen Bhoot to comment intelligently, but I do remember a Hollywood flick I had seen as a child - Child Play, that featured a fiend of doll called Chucky!!
